I initially began my blog with the intention of educating readers on their dental health and promoting events in our community. Over the next few blogs, we’d like to change topics from dental health a little bit. Instead, we’d like to focus more on our Prescott community by talking about the local businesses that help our town thrive.
There are a lot of unique local businesses that provide exceptional goods and services to Prescott. Local businesses are the heartbeat of any community. They help our community sustain itself by keeping money in our local economy and creating more jobs.
Today, we’re going to talk about the fantastic local restaurant, Soldi Creative Cuisine. Soldi Creative Cuisine is what the local business movement is all about. It’s innovative and adds charm to our town.
Soldi Creative Cuisine began after Aimee Novak graduated from culinary school and decided to buy a food truck. Since the food cart was small, she could only use small menus. This means that she had to get really creative in order to make all of her flavors shine through. This is when she decided it would be her best bet to just change her menu every week. This induced Aimee’s restaurant philosophy of cooking fresh and seasonal.
In my experience, this is what makes local restaurants taste better anyways. When Aimee decided to start serving lunch at a fixed location, she continued her mission of only using fresh and local ingredients. That’s part of what makes Soldi stand out in my mind. Their menu changes every week with the season. This way, they only create dishes using local, seasonal vegetables.
When you walk into Soldi the atmosphere is cozy, intimate, and relaxing. Much like a European style restaurant, the seating feels communal and relaxed. The chairs in the dining area aren’t uniform, which gives the dining area a charming and laid-back feel. There’s a large outside patio with lots of comfortable seating and a large chiminea for chillier evenings. The seating areas are decorated with cute throw pillows and rustic pictures that create a down-home, minimalist atmosphere. Another innovative aspect of the restaurant is that you can bring your own beer (40 ounces a guest) and wine (750 ml a guest) after 12 pm. This allows you to enjoy libations at a cheaper price.
Most people who don’t like to eat local argue that pricing is too expensive. After all, small businesses buy fresh and locally sourced food, so they spend a little more on better ingredients. On that note, Soldi Creative Cuisine is fair in their pricing. Lunch plates usually range from $7-10. These prices are more than fair; given that you’ll be eating gourmet recipes made on the spot with fresh ingredients. They use the seasonal ingredients in an innovative way to put delicious spins on traditional street food. The amount of detail that Soldi puts into their dishes from presentation to taste sets it apart from all of the restaurants in Prescott.
No matter the season, you can expect the lunch menu to have an eclectic mixture of street food. Soldi Creative Cuisine takes flavors from all over the world. To give you an idea of the style of food at Soldi, you can find anything from Vietnamese-inspired sandwiches to Southwestern style tacos. Typically, you’ll see Spanish style tapas on the menu. These dishes are typically rich in flavor in texture, combining savory cheeses with sweet spreads. I can assure you that no matter what you order, you can expect it to be a fresh and well executed dish.
